Ferry services on board

Neptuno and Sirena accommodation

Baleària’s ferries have two types of accommodation: Sirena and Neptuno (except some ferries on the Ibiza-Formentera line).

Neptuno accommodation:
With rooms equipped with comfortable ergonomic seats that can in most cases be reclined, equipped with folding trays and seat pockets. In this type of accommodation the seats are wider and there is more space between them. In addition, on the majority of the boats, in the Neptuno accommodation there is catering (different snacks depending on the time of day and the crossing).
The ferry+ Martín i Soler has fully reclinable, black leather seats and electrical sockets.

Sirena accommodation:
The majority of the ferries have rooms similar to the Neptuno accommodation, but less spacious and without a catering service.

Entertainment

The waiting rooms are equipped with audiovisual equipment where videos are shown (films, documentaries...).
In addition, Baleària Magazine is distributed free of charge in all the ferries and branches. It is a quarterly publication, which includes articles about Baleària’s destinations, cultural agenda, interviews, notices about the company etc.

Bar cafeteria / Restaurant All of Baleària’s ferries (except some of those that serve the Ibiza-Formentera line) have a bar-cafeteria.

Shop

The majority of the ferries have a shop where you can buy gifts, cosmetics and perfumes, sweets…

Mobile phones

Mobile phone calls do not interfere with the navigation equipment, so telephones can be used during the crossing. On some of the lines there is coverage for practically the whole crossing, while the ferry Isla de Botafoc has permanent Movistar coverage.

Smoke free area

In accordance with the national law on tobacco, smoking is prohibited inside the ferries. Nor is it permitted to smoke in any of the Baleària offices. Baleària thanks its passengers for complying with this law.

Locker

Suitcases and hand luggage do not need to be checked in. For passengers travelling with a vehicle, the suitcases “are checked in at home”, as the passenger boards his luggage inside the vehicle.
If travelling without a vehicle, the passenger himself takes his luggage onto the ferry, where it can be left in the waiting room lockers, which stay open throughout the crossing.
In the case of the Isla de Botafoc and Borja ferries, the locker remains closed throughout the crossing, and is opened on arrival at the port; for this reason passengers are advised to carry their hand luggage with them.
Baleària does not take responsibility for the possible theft or loss of luggage or personal objects of the passengers. The passengers are advised to carry valuables with them.

Cargo hold

In accordance with the international safety code, access to the cargo holds of the ferries is restricted to the drivers of the vehicles. In addition, photography and video recording is completely prohibited in this area.
The cargo hold remains closed throughout the crossing, so you are advised to take any personal possessions that you may need during the journey with you to the passenger areas.
Once the ferry has reached the destination port, passengers with a vehicle on board will be informed when they can access the garage/cargo hold. However, the vehicle’s engine may not be turned on until the ferry gates and exit ramps have been opened.

Deck

On the fast ferries, which are high-speed vessels, the deck cannot be accessed during the crossing (even if the ferry is moored in port or even when sailing at a reduced speed when going in or out of the port).
On the rest of the ferries, during the crossing you can stroll on the deck without any problem at all. In addition, on the decks of some of the ferries there are deckchairs or benches where you can relax and enjoy the crossing. In the case of the Martín i Soler, the ferry has a swimming pool, bar and several relaxation areas.
